The project "Increasing capacity and awareness on domestic violence and gender-based violence in the South Central Region", implemented by the Union for Bulgaria Association in partnership with SUPRAS, Norway, Strelcha Municipality and Multi Level Consulting, has been successfully completed.
The overall goal of the project is to increase the capacity of Bulgarian local authorities in the field of domestic violence and gender-based violence.
The results achieved under the project are: Conducted research and analyses in 10 municipalities of the South Central Region /SCR/, including Strelcha Municipality as a selected pilot municipality and 9 other municipalities in the region - Brezovo, Kuklen, Rakovski, Sadovo, Svilengrad, Smolyan, Kirkovo, Peshtera, Rakitovo; Prepared 10 reports from the conducted research and analyses - for each of the selected municipalities in the SCR; Shared good practices from the Kingdom of Norway; Created 10 training programs; Conducted 10 trainings for each of the selected municipalities in the SCR; 82 specialists who have undergone the trainings and have increased capacity to work with victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence, with an emphasis on the Roma community and are ready to provide support in a real environment; Created and functioning Pilot Center "You Are Not Alone" - a local service for working with women and children who have experienced domestic violence and gender-based violence, incl. from the Roma community in the Municipality of Strelcha - with the main goal of providing consultations and information and increasing public sensitivity and intolerance to the problem.
The project was implemented with the financial support of Norway and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 in the amount of 194 thousand euros.
